Why we're pledging
Hazelbury Bryan Branch of the Royal British Legion in conjunction with The Countryside Alliance Foundation Charity, "Casting for Recovery" is organising a charity concert at 7 pm on 12th October 2017 in Sherborne Abbey to raise funds for Dorset veterans and for ladies recovering from breast cancer.

The performers at the concert are talented singers and musicians from private and state schools in Dorset, including St Edwards Poole, Blandford School, Claysmore, Gillingham, The Gryphon, Knighton House, and Shaftesbury School. Many of them are seldom heard outside the confines of their own schools nor do many of them ever have the opportunity to perform to such a wide audience. The purpose of the concert, beyond fundraising, is to give these talented young people a platform in a prestigious setting, in front of VIPs and the public at large, with the opportunity to shine and develop.

In 2015 we organised a similar concert which was a great success and raised £15,000. This year we hope to double that figure. Please help us by buying tickets for the evening from Sherborne Tourist Information Centre (£30, £25 and £20) on 01935 815341, or if you cannot attend, by making a donation on this page by card or text. The first £1,000 of donations made on this page will be matched by Eastcheap Charitable Trust and Hazelbury Bryan Branch TRBL in equal proportion.

The money raised from ticket sales, donations and Eastcheap's pledge will be split equally between:

• The Hazelbury Bryan Branch of the Royal British Legion.
• 'Casting for Recovery' which organises fly fishing instruction as well as emotional and medical support for women recovering from breast cancer.

Any help you can give will be put to very good use. Due to the generosity of a number of firms and individuals the administrative costs of organising this concert are virtually nil, thus you can be assured that EVERY pound donated WILL go to the two charities concerned.

Thank you.
