Every year over 40,000 children in the UK are left with a brain injury as a result of an accident or illness. Many children make a good recovery, but thousands have to live with ongoing, long-term difficulties. Some children are left with severe physical difficulties or learning difficulties. The Children's Trust provides rehabilitation, community and online services to support all children with acquired brain injury and their families.
Thousands more children are born with brain injuries or develop severe disabilities as a result of a degenerative conditions. The Children's Trust's medical services and special school give children with the most complex disabilities and health needs the chance to live their lives to the full.
Their vision is for all children with brain injury to have the opportunity to live the best life possible, and from the support my brother received when he went there for rehabilitation I can vouch for the fact that it is an amazing place.
So this summer together with Sam and his dad James I will be attempting to cycle from Land's End to John o' Groats in 11 days. We are setting off on the 2nd July and will be covering about 100 miles a day. I hadn't looked at the road map before I accepted the challenge!!!
Any donations would be very welcome and would be going to this great cause.
