Why I'm pledging
When my daughter came home with a form for consent for the HPV virus, I had no idea what the inoculation was for. After a little googling I discovered that is was to help prevent cervical cancers in women. At this point you think - absolutely.

A month or so later a lady came into the gym talking about this rowing challenge. Again, after googling the race I found the charity. HPV causes 5% of all cancers not just cervical cancer, NOMAN have a plan and are working to completely eradicate this virus from the face of the Earth, preventing millions of cancers in the process. The research, prevention, campaign, and support programs depend on the NOMAN to continue to deliver outstanding results.

I was shocked about the lack of information out there and also the fact that boys in this country are not routinely vaccinated. I am a mother of 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl. I am racing to help this charity raise the funds to carry on their vital work into the prevention of these cancers and also to help raise awareness that this virus is very common, in fact at least 80% of the population are affected by it, and that it can affect both men and women. I want other parents to know and be educated to make a decision about vaccinating their children.
