In December 2017, we will be rowing over 3,000 miles in a race between Gomera in the Canary Islands and Antigua on either side of the Atlantic.
Once out of the safety of the harbour walls, we will be at the mercy of storms, huge cresting waves, container ships, and perhaps most worryingly, each other's company. Salt sores, blisters, strained muscles and hallucinations await. To top it all off, we aim to be the first pair home in Antigua.
Statistics:
2 hours rowing, 2 hours rest, for a period of up to 60 days. Relentless. Non-stop.
Burning 10,000 calories a day, consuming 6,000.
Lose 20% of our body weight.
1.5 million oarstrokes.
THE CAUSES WE ARE SUPPORTING
The money we raise will be divided evenly between two exceptional charities:
• Alzheimer's Research UK - the UK’s leading dementia research charity. Their pioneering work focuses on prevention, treatment and cure of this debilitating disease that affects over 850,000 in the UK alone.

• Against Malaria Foundation - half a million people die each year from malaria, and a further 400 million fall ill. It is the number one killer of pregnant women, and is most prevalent in children under 5. Yet malaria is preventable. Against Malaria Foundation works to protect people from malaria, saving countless lives in the process.
