Plastic is one of the world’s biggest polluters and is a continually growing problem in our world today. Some of the issues that come with plastic pollution include micro-plastics entering our food chain, marine life dying from plastic ingestion and overflowing landfills. We need to preserve this earth for future generations and that starts with us; individual action can achieve so much no matter how small the change is. This is why members of the St Swithun’s community have decided to partake in the Plastic Free Challenge. There are different categories ranging from 1 week to a month and the main aim is to use as little single use plastic as possible and opting for more zero waste alternatives. We are raising money for the school charities one of which is Plastic Oceans and we would appreciate any donations. The charities that the school is supporting this year are Great Ormond Street Hospital, I-India/Ladli and Plastic Oceans; all of these charities support amazing causes so by supporting this campaign your money would be benefitting many people. We only have one Earth and the small changes we make can preserve the world for generations to come.
