This July, Dmitry Serov and Philipp Koenig will be two of a 5-man crew attempting to cross the Balearic in an ocean-going row boat with nothing but some oars, a sextant and an anthropomorphic volleyball.
You may have seen Philipp suffering through long pieces on the rowing machine and you may have seen Dmitry in passing on his way to the airport. But with hard work, dedication, SPF150 and some hotel wall-sits, we believe we can achieve our modest ambition: break the race record set in 2015 for the fastest transit by a 5-man crew of under 3 days.
The race is known as NOMAN is an Island: Race to End HPV Barcelona-Ibiza 2019 and it is in support of the effort to raise awareness about the HPV-related cancer epidemic and end it through universal HPV vaccination.
In a mere 10 weeks, we will be enjoying all the usual luxuries of a boat trip in the Mediterranean: back-breaking work, sleep deprivation, salt sores, and sea-sickness. Here’s a teaser of what’s to come: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7RCm-xYCX0
More about NOMAN:
Since 2013, NOMAN campaign has raised $3 million in the fight against HPV, the causal agent of 5% of all cancers. The funds raised from this race will help eradicate this virus from the face of the Earth, preventing millions of cancers in the process. We can accomplish this feat via universal vaccination for girls AND boys. In addition to prevention, the Foundation behind NOMAN is working hard to accelerate drug development for patients with advanced HPV-related cancer.

We have been impressed with this Foundation’s achievements since the Founders started the organization in 2010 after the loss of their mother to HPV-related cancer. Our goal is to help them realize their dreams of ending suffering caused by HPV by raising GBP 20,000 in total between the two of us.
Please – to help us reach our goal by donating below.
There will also be a GPS on www.nomancampaign.org where you can check our progress once the race is underway, so please, check back often!
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
