Hi, I'm Sadie starting L6 at St Swithuns in September. St Swithuns School and The Bramston Bursary Foundation (BBF) is raising funds to provide boarding places for girls, for whom such an education would otherwise be impossible. For the first time this year, the BBF is not only looking to provide places for underprivileged girls but is actually looking to help girls in the care system or on the brink of care. As you can imagine, this would be a life changing experience for those children! The BBF is working with other charitable partners with considerable experience in identifying the individuals who would benefit from this opportunity. In Hampshire alone there are some 1100 children in care with over 100 children entering the care system daily in the UK. In order to kick off the fundraising this year, our Headmistress has committed to running the St Swithun’s Way (33 miles from Farnham to Winchester). Obviously, she is not expecting us to run the whole way! However, she is encouraging us all to participate and help provide a less fortunate girl the opportunity to have a St Swithuns education. I have opted for an 18 mile (29km) walk from Chawton to St Swithun’s. I will be setting off around 8am on Sunday 22nd September 2019 and hope to arrive at School some 7-8 hours later. St Swithun’s has pledged to match every pound raised! If you would like to sponsor my walk and help provide a real life changing opportunity to a child in need, I would be very grateful for any donation of any amount.
