York House is one of the Sixth Form boarding houses at Downe House. Every year, we fundraise for a particular charity. The charity we have chosen for 2018-19 is 'Action4Archie' which is dedicated to helping people with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. It is named after Archie Hill, cousin to LVI student Trinity Hill, who was diagnosed with Duchenne in 2008 when he was just 3 years old. Since then, Archie and his family have campaigned tirelessly for improvement in the treatment and care of those who suffer from this debilitating and life-limiting condition.
On 12th May we will be holding a Summer Fete and Dog Show to raise money for Action4Archie. The money we raise from the event will go to Muscular Dystrophy UK and be used to continue the search for a breakthrough cure. Whilst we hope that you will be able to join us on the day, we appreciate that not everyone will be able to make it but that you may still want to donate to this worthwhile cause.
York House thanks you in advance for any contributions and looks forward to seeing many of you on the 12th May for what will hopefully be a fun-filled, sunny day!
